e-Grievance Management Portal

About e-Grievance Management Portal (e-GMP)

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) is a Constitutional body established under Article 338 of the Indian Constitution to safeguard the rights of Scheduled Castes (SC). One of the core mandates of NCSC is addressing grievances faced by SC people, including issues of discrimination, atrocities, and deprivation of rights.

To streamline grievance redressal, the Commission has introduced the e-Grievance Management Portal (eGMP) to facilitate justice and address grievances for individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC). This digital platform allows SC petitioners to file complaints online, making the grievance redressal process more accessible, transparent, and effective.

Benefits of the e-Grievance Management Portal

1. Accessibility and Convenience

The advantage of e-Grievance Management Portal (eGMP) is its accessibility and convenience. SC petitioners can file complaints anytime and from anywhere. This is particularly beneficial for those residing in remote or rural areas, where access to government services is limited.

2. Enhanced Reach of NCSC

e-Grievance Management Portal (eGMP) has significantly extended the reach of NCSC. The Commission can now connect with affected petitioners and address their grievances. Regular monitoring of complaints through the portal ensures timely action, resulting in faster and more effective justice delivery.

3. Efficiency and Transparency

The portal brings efficiency and transparency to the grievance resolution process. Complaints filed through e-Grievance Management Portal (eGMP) follow a streamlined workflow. Petitioners can track the status of their complaints online, ensuring transparency and building trust in the system.

4. Focus on Heinous Crimes

A key feature of e-Grievance Management Portal (eGMP) is its focus on heinous crimes against SC petitioners. The portal prioritizes such cases to ensure they receive the attention they deserve, enabling swift and effective action.

5. Affordable and Accessible Justice

e-Grievance Management Portal (eGMP) aims to provide justice at a lower cost, reducing the financial burden on petitioners. This aligns with the directive of NCSC Chairperson, Mr. Kishor Makwana, to make justice more accessible and affordable. By minimizing expenses, the portal supports victims in seeking justice without significant financial strain.

Nature of Complaints

The grievances/cases received in the Commission (both at headquarters and in its State Offices) are classified into three main categories:

  • Service Safeguards Wing: Handles complaints related to service matters.
  • Economic and Social Development Wing (ESDW): Deals with economic and social development matters.
  • Atrocities and Protection of Civil Rights Wing (APCR): Handles cases related to atrocities.
